AUDETTE

 audette is a contemporary leather goods label based in Mexico City.

The brand explores new lines in handbag design.
Each piece is built around contrast: structure and softness, masculinity and femininity, function and gesture. Shapes are precise, sometimes unexpected. Colors are treated as materials in themselves.

audette designs handbags through form, volume and use — pieces meant to be worn and lived with.

Shortly after its launch, the brand was selected by MoMA Design Store in New York.
Today, audette is distributed in a curated network of stores across France, Japan, Italy, the United States and Mexico.

THE DESIGNERS

 audette was founded by Aude Jan and Charles Gout, a French duo now based in Mexico City.

They met in Paris in 2012 and moved to Mexico a few years later. The city’s raw energy, scale and constant movement deeply shaped the brand’s visual language and rhythm.

Aude leads design. Raised in a pattern-making environment, she developed a relationship with construction, volume and precision from an early age. Her work focuses on form and function, pushing the handbag beyond its conventional role to become an object of design.

Charles directs the brand’s imagery and narrative. Through visual content, campaigns and spatial projects, he places the collections in unexpected contexts, building a language that is both editorial and instinctive.

Together, they develop audette as a space of experimentation between Paris and Mexico City.

HANDCRAFTED IN SPAIN

All audette pieces are crafted in Spain, in workshops based in Andalusia, near Seville.
The brand works with long-established workshops also producing for major fashion houses.

audette uses Italian leathers and alternative materials such as cactus-based fabrics.
Production remains limited, allowing close control over form, construction and finish.

Rather than opposing tradition and innovation, audette treats craftsmanship as a tool to prototype, test and refine new shapes.

The brand evolves through materials, volume and use.
Each collection is a step in an ongoing research.
